Steps to a Successful Radon Measurement
What are Closed Building Conditions??
Initiate the request. We will need your name, contact information, reason for the test, property address, property details, and realtor information
1.
We will then schedule a time to access the property. If the test is part of a real estate transaction we will schedule access with the listing agent. Otherwise, we will schedule access with the home owner.
2.
The Radon Measuement technician will established that closed building conditions have been met including:
-
Windows have been closed for at least 12 hours prior to the start of the test
-
Temperature is set between 67-77 degrees
-
Fireplace flues are closed
3.
The technician will set up the Radon monitors in appropriate locations. Measures will be taken to ensure monitors were not disturbed and closed building conditions were maintained throughout the test.
4.
Arrangements will be made with the appropriate person for Radon monitor pick up. Typically, this should take place 48 hours after the monitor is set. If closed building conditions were not met at the time of monitor drop off the test may have to be extended, delaying the pick up day/time.
5.
The Technician arrives at the property to pick up monitors. The building is checked again for closed building conditions. The technician will also look for signs of tampering.
6.
The technician uploads all data including notes and floor plans. The report is assembled and reviewed. Payment is required before the report is released.
7.
